Bella Preneta’s birthday was this past Friday, March 25th. For the celebration, a friend and I organized a fun but simple surprise birthday tea! It was hard to not spill the plans throughout the week but we managed to pull it off and completely surprise Bella! Here’s the menu and how we decided to do gifts!
The menu for the party was very light, snack-like foods. We had a variety of tea sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries and rather than getting a cake, we got cream puffs and e-claires for dessert.
The tea sandwiches are super easy to make. We made two kinds peanut butter and jelly on wheat bread and cucumbers and Boursin cheese on white bread. You simply take whatever kind of bread you would like with whatever condiments and make a sandwich. To make the sandwich, “tea size” you cut off the crust and then further cut the sandwich into fours. They are extremely easy to make and delicious at the same time!!Chocolate covered strawberries are a go-to food for any party. You simply take strawberries, melted chocolate and a tray covered with parchment paper. You take the strawberries and dip them into the chocolate and place them on a tray. After doing that with all of the strawberries you can either let them sit or put them in the refrigerator to harder. Chocolate covered strawberries seem to be a treat that will please everyone!
Normally, for a party each person would bring a gift ranging from 20 to 25 dollars. However, my friends and I had the idea of everyone contributing 10 dollars and getting her a better quality gift. Twelve girls came to the celebration and all of them contributed to the group gift. Since Bella was doing a bit of room redecoration for her birthday, we decided to get her a new little addition to her room. We decided on this”Adventure Fund” Kate Spade pillow from their home decor line. She loved it!
This is the video of Bella when she walked in… my friend Sydney and I told her we were going out to lunch but took a short detour to my house where the rest of our friends were hiding.
After eating and sitting down for tea, we ended our celebration with a bit of Easter fun while dying eggs! The party was so much fun and I know Bella was completely surprised! I hope everyone has a “Hoppy” Easter!!
